Les Mills Strength Development – New Class Alert

Strength training is one of the most powerful ways to support your body. It acts as preventative medicine, helping you stay strong, capable, and independent as life gets busier and your body naturally starts to change.

NEW TRIAL CLASSES

Les Mills Strength Development

  • Wednesday 6.15am with Emily
  • Sunday 9.30am with Jayden

What is Strength Development?

  • A group training workout combining functional movements and dynamic core exercises to build strength, power, and athleticism
  • Slow, controlled reps (6–12) to prioritise technique and allow for safe progression in weight
  • A strength-focused session not set to music, so you can train at your own pace
  • Emphasis on hypertrophy (muscle building) and strength development
  • Focus on lifting fundamentals and effective training techniques
  • Designed to help you build confidence, improve skills, and progress your overall strength

Why is strength training so important?

Strength training is one of the most powerful ways to support your body. It acts as preventative medicine, helping you stay strong, capable, and independent as life gets busier and your body naturally starts to change.

From your 30s onwards, we begin to lose muscle and bone density. Strength training helps slow (and even reverse) this, building stronger bones, supporting joints, and maintaining lean muscle for better energy, balance, and everyday movement.

It’s about more than fitness — it’s about feeling confident in your body, keeping up with life, and knowing you’re investing in a stronger, more resilient future.

Who will it suit:

  • If you love a gym workout
  • You enjoy other strength classes, e.g. Bootcamp, Strong Fit, S&C, HIIT Circuit, BodyPump
  • Anyone ready for a challenge & wanting to lift heavier than Strong Movers Class.

What is the difference between LES MILLS STRENGTH DEVELOPMENT and BODYPUMP?

  • BODYPUMP is based on a formula of high rep strength training to the beat of the music, to build strength endurance using light weights. It's fast with lots and lots of repetitions.
  • LES MILLS STRENGTH DEVELOPMENT is slow and controlled, 6-12 reps (not in time to the music) to focus on technique, which means you can add more weight if you choose.
