Thanks to the dedication of the passionate members of Brave Hearts on the Murray, and our Head of Fitness & Community Engagement, Kahlia Miller, a special tradition returned to our region this Mother’s Day — the beloved Mother’s Day Classic. Held at Sumsion Gardens, the event drew over 300 enthusiastic participants, all rallying together in a sea of pink to show their support.
In collaboration with the MDC, we reached a meaningful agreement: 100% of registration fees would be directed to the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. Meanwhile, funds raised through our raffle, food stalls, and generous local sponsorships were proudly kept within the community — supporting the Border Medical Oncology Research Unit. These vital funds help provide local access to breast and ovarian cancer treatment trials, sparing patients the need to travel far from home.
Under sunny skies and surrounded by community spirit, we proudly raised a whopping $25,000 — a huge win for local cancer research and support. It was a day full of colour, compassion, and connection — and we can’t wait to do it all again next year!
