10 – 16 June 2019
This year, Men’s Health Week will run from 10 to 16 June, and to celebrate, Wodonga Sports and Leisure Centre will be offering a range of free initiatives to help raise awareness about men’s health and wellbeing issues.
Men and boys face different health and wellbeing concerns than women and girls, and Men’s Health Week is an opportunity to both acknowledge these differences and look for ways to improve the health and wellbeing of men and boys throughout Australia.
During Men’s Health Week, Wodonga Sports & Leisure Centre will be offering free sessions for men to come and try. This includes a strength training class, where men can either learn the basic compound lifts, or brush up on their technique.
Nutrition Warehouse will also be setting up a pop-up stall for members to come and try products and ask advice on what supplements are right for them.
In addition, Headspace will be in the centre from 3pm to 5pm on Friday 14 June, discussing the range of services they offer youth and young males.
Men’s Health Week is an opportunity both to celebrate the good things that men and boys bring to our society as well as to shed light on the health and wellbeing issues they face. Wodonga Sports & Leisure Centre hope that Men’s Health Week will encourage men to value their health and wellbeing as an important first step in developing more effective ways of taking care of themselves so they can lead longer and happier lives.
